2015 Great Britain First Polymer £5 banknote featuring Winston Churchill AA01 - 65 GEM Uncirculated


Elizabeth II (1952-2022), the Bank of England seal, the Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben), a coronation crown, the Bank of England headquarters, and the coat of arms of England, printed on a blue/green polymer with a transparent window and raised print for security, signed by Victoria Cleland. 


The reverse, the standard 2015 Bank of England £5 polymer note features a portrait of Sir Winston Churchill, A view of the Houses of Parliament and the Elizabeth Tower (which contains Big Ben) from London's South Bank, looking across Westminster Bridge.


A background image of the medal for the 1953 Nobel Prize in Literature awarded to Churchill, A quote from his first speech as Prime Minister to the House of Commons on May 13, 1940: "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat". A circular green foil patch that contains the word "BLENHEIM," in reference to Blenheim Palace, Churchill's birthplace. A silver metallic image over the transparent window that is silver on the back (and gold on the front). 



2015 was the first year in the UK that Polymer notes where produced and this note carries a low serial number of AA01 594369. The note has been professionally graded by PMG as 65 GEM Uncirculated
