1953 Proof Half Crown NGC PF66 Cameo I of DEI to Space Davies 2310

Translation of obverse legend, Elizabeth II by the Grace of God Queen of all the Britains.
Although 40,000 sets were produced for the 1953 Coronation, the majority include the more common proof farthing. However, a small percentage feature the variety described by Davies as Obverse “I” of “DEI” to space (Davies 2310). This example is one of those rare pieces. It is highly sought after by collectors and exceptionally scarce in such a superior grade.
